| Senior Year is approaching. Let's look back at how education screwed us over and make us choose our career paths!
Kindergarten
Impressions: It’s my first time in school and I didn’t know
I had to stay in school for 12 more years. In fact, you can say I knew
practically nothing about school at this point.
Friends: Well I first befriended a guy name Mikail. I think
that’s how it’s spelt. But I dunno, I guess we never really talked later so it
was like nothing almost. There I met Lucas, my first ever best friend all
throughout elementary. There was also Rodney, my second best friend. I’m not
sure how we got along but we did. Not only those two, I met a lot of people
that have been my friends for a long time. I first met Michelle Cheung, Jenny
Dong, and Dijon
here. Dijon was
the tallest guy I knew, and my first African-American friend. We got along great.
He could do this pink eye thing. Something with his eyelids. It was disgusting,
but hilarious.
Debacles: My first experience when we had computer room
time. Sometimes Ms. Salem frightens me to hell and other times she can be real
nice. Now that I think about it, she probably has some French descent.
Trends: I think Power Rangers was pretty big back then. Ah,
the memories.
Overall: Not so bad. I don’t remember doing much in it
except play and screw up a few times. I think this is the first time I started
noticing every Friday was the day there’d be sales in the auditorium or
something. Was it? Well it was fun, nevertheless.
First Grade
Impressions: Well I think I’m learning how school works.
Recess was probably the best things I was ever offered.
Friends: Hey, most of my friends are here too! Hurray! Oh
wait, I have a problem with this guy. Macksim? He’s like the kind of trolls
that aren’t on the internet if that’s even remotely possible.
Debacles: Probably one of the first times I got in real
trouble and that was for taking a lot. Hey, I don’t really talk that much
anymore. Maybe it’s because I hate it when I’m being lectured or yelled at?
Trends: Well, I can’t really say much but my teach, Ms.
Taylor always read stories on Ms. Viola Swamp. On Halloween that would be her
costume. I guess I was freaked out a bit but it was all in good fun.
Overall: Pretty good. This was the first year I joined a
play by my own accord, and the first and only play where my two other sisters
at Lafayette
that time were in as well. It was The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I was
supposed to play a bear, but they changed it to a mouse for some reason.
Actually they changed a lot of animals for some reason… Holiday Bazaar was
really awesome as well as the Halloween day.
Second Grade
Impressions: Okay, it seems that with every year, the kids
go to rooms now on the second and third floors. And in the double digits now!!
Wow, a room with a sofa too. That’s neato.
Friends: Okay, I think this turned out pretty good. I made a
lot of new friends here, I think. Unfortunately I can’t really remember anyone
aside from Shaina, Barclay, and Jordan, an Aussie! And hey, Lucas is in my
class again! How lucky is that?
Debacles: I really don’t see what problems I had here. It
was really funny. Mrs. Burger took us on a lot of field trips and we had many
book order catalogs.
Trends: Everyone knows that awesome little aardvark, right?
Even to this day, Arthur is still the freakin’ bomb. A-A-R-D-V-A-R-K! And I
know everyone remembers Jumpstart PC games. The 2nd grade one is the
best, still is. What better than robots with punny names and a great adventure?
Overall: Honestly, I don’t know exactly how I passed because
I clearly didn’t finish all my homework. Hell, even I’m amazed by that. But
aside from that (and my very horrible, horrible handwriting) it was great.
Third Grade
Impressions: Little did I know this was gonna be one year I
had to endure painfully. This is so stupid. My teacher was supposed to be this
guy but he must’ve gotten fired or whatever. So instead, my class had
alternating substitutes. Painful, painful indeed.
Friends: I never heard of a class with mixed grades, but it
happened. The third grade class and the fourth grade class joined forces as one
class. I befriended a whole lot of 4th graders because I was
completely separated from almost all of my friends. Andy, Kip, and Wesley. The
three greatest friends of mine that weren’t in my grade. We totally did
everything together.
Debacles: Here’s where things got a little ugly. I actually
got a pink slip. See, I was hanging out with some people (including Andy) and
it was after school. We were in the bathroom and suddenly one of the guys threw
a wet rolled up toilet paper at the wall. I thought it looked quite funny so I
wanted to try it myself. I failed totally. But the problem was that once we
went back up to the yard I was taking a drink from the water fountain (oh man,
I miss those fountains) and one of the school guys was hollering at us
randomly. He found the wall in the bathroom full of wet toilet balls thrown at
the wall. I wasn’t quite thinking at the moment, but I can’t really be to blame
for that because the one I shot was like, on the floor and it wasn’t as great
as the others stuck on the wall. So why did I not say anything? I was so stupid…
-_-; the punishment aside from a pink slip was to clean the bathroom for like
weeks. I actually didn’t think it was that terrible but it was tedious and
fucking annoying. Well, anyways, a teacher was finally decided after so many
others and it was Mr. Walker in a new room downstairs. He was so cool. My first
male teacher and he was quite calm and collected.
Trends: Pokémon, totally… That was practically the thing
back then. Oh yeah, Beast Wars was really big too.
Overall: Honestly, things went really bad for me, but there
was the good side of it that came for me. Mostly the second semester where I
didn’t fuck up as much.
Fourth Grade
Impressions: Okay, I wasn’t expecting anything really. It
was just like, oh great, gotta go back again. Funny as it may sound, I was late
on the first day. Like maybe half an hour late.
Friends: Real amazing I think. My best buds Lucas and Rodney
were back, and a lot of the guys and girls I knew back then returned as well. I
made some cool new friends too like Michael, Leo, William, and Timmy. Although
I think I actually knew these guys from after school a year before.
Debacles: Well, I think a huge mishap was in the courtyard
at recess. It’s funny because the guys and the girls always bickered over which
court they get. It was like this for Foursquare (damn I hate that game),
Handball, Kickball (damn that was fun), and even Volleyball which we called
something else. Forgot what it was but it was mostly like Dodgeball. Very
violent. Then there was… I dunno, tension between classmates? Though when I say
tension, I really mean like… very awkward moments and such. It’s.. kind of a
long story that I wish not to tell.
Trends: Well, I know Pokémon was still growing strong, but
this is when I first got into Digimon, the beneficial factor which would lead
to influence my interests today. Yup, it’s all thanks to that franchise.
Overall: Much fun. I really liked my teacher(s) and we got
to have computer time more. Oregon Trail!! And
that game… the one where you are a fish? That was fun as well. Of course, in
modern times these PCs are pretty much mere pieces of JUNK.
Fifth Grade
Impressions: It’s my final year at Lafayette!!! I think I was very knowledgeable
for my age here. Well, for most of the time being. Other times I acted so
self-absorbed and bastardized, it’s not very funny. The great thing about this
year was that my class was the same as last year, save for one new girl. Talk
about awesomeness. I can have the last moments with my best friends from long
ago.
Friends + Debacles: Still the same great guys. Although…
there was this one time that I really got mad at Lucas for some reason. It was
a really stupid reason. All because a group of us had kinda quarreled over a
ball or something. I attempted to smack Lucas in the shins with a ball too. I
dunno what I was thinking, I honestly don’t. That time, he was truly my best
friend but I’ve no idea what set me like that. It was just too fucking stupid.
I think after that we didn’t talk for a while. We really didn’t have a lot of
contact until later on when I showed him the awesomely cool cloning trick in
Gold/Silver. He probably still resents me for that moment, but we’re cool now.
Of course I could talk to him over AIM but we sure seem to be worlds apart now.
He’s about to graduate from Lowell and me Wash. He totally outgrew me too. I
remember I was more like his person to look up to, but that sorta dimished
later on. We played chess together a lot. I was really stubborn because I didn’t
want to lose to him in Chess so I made up a rule and I definitely know he knew
it was BS. He knows chess inside and out so I shouldn’t be mocking him like
that.
Another oddity was well… more “tension”? Hrmm… Oh yeah, I
had to adjust to living in a new house around the end of April. It really
saddened me. No more free cable, no more free street roaming… no more Sunset.
Instead my new house was amazingly on the same block as Lafayette. The same fucking block. I could
just walk a few steps and I’m there! Who the hell’s idea was it to move there
in the first place? =__=;
Trends: Okay, this is gonna sound pretty funny. So my friend
from 4th/5th grade named Wilson Szeto was getting poked
around a lot. You know how it was back in the 90s? Asians would wear matching
sweaters and pants like pajamas. It’s probably what I’d call the early FOB.
That’s what it looks like. Anyways, Wilson
was wearing them all the time. His shirt said “Shumakid” on it. Now I don’t
know what the hell that meant, but Timmy laughed a lot from that and so he
pretty much set the nickname “Shumakid” in stone. Other funny nicknames he got
were like “Fidget” and “Mama Szeto.” We’ve done it since 4th grade
but I guess he got fed up with it in 5th grade. So we had to dumb it
down pretty much. But I’m sure he’s cool with it now. I mean, c’mon, we’re
teenagers. Get a freakin’ grip, man. Lol
Overall: Pretty good, pretty bad. First time I ever received
an F. Little did I know that moment would probably screw me over because I’d be
constantly getting Fs once I moved to Middle School.
Til next entry!
