| | Nearly halfway through this I promise to make these next ones short and sweet.
Power Rangers Lost Galaxy (Season 7) I admit, I started lose interest around this time. All my favorite characters are gone and a new storyline was put out. I I was skeptical about this but at least they know how to keep things linear with the old story. Entirely new cast with new plot. This would be how the generations would continue. This also gave birth to the team-up episodes which is a pretty cool thing. Villains were completely ridiculous though. C'mon, a giant fat ass Scorpion in a tub? Oh yes, and the costumes were pretty lame. Clearly they were taken off of Charlie Brown's hallmark zigzag shirt.
Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue (Season 8) Well the show finally takes place back on Earth again. This time it seems that the villains were of this planet and nowhere else. Quite interesting. Also, a new base was introduced. An underwater base, that is. The theme this time was about... well rescuing and stuff. Protecting the city and all that. Each ranger actually had a career. Pretty pathetic, right? LOL In the American adaptation, a ranger was created. Yup, it wasn't from the Japanese. This was the Titanium Ranger. He looked better than the other guys since they had hippie designs. But what I can't stand are the humongous visors with no mouth plate
Power Rangers Time Force (Season 9) Now this is where things started to pick up again. This time the team was a group of police officers from the year 3000. A villain had traveled back in time and they gave chase. There's a really dark and compelling story behind the whole season. Jen, who plays Pink, is proposed by her fellow officer Alex, who was Red. She agreed and they would soon be happy together. Unfortunately duty called and the infamous Criminal Ransik traveled to the year 2001 to get away. So the rangers followed, but Alex was incredibly injured when he tried to capture Ransik. He was very much near death and it broke Jen apart. So they traveled back to 2001. Too bad for them though. The team needed everyone to activate their morphers before they could morph. Unfortunately Alex was... well MIA. So they had to search for a person that matched his DNA. A rich man's kid named Wes just so happened to be at the right place at the right time. He was a perfect match. More than that, he even resembles Alex in appearance! So anyhoo, many twists and turns here and there. The story was very true to the original Japanese so it gained much praise from the fandom. This would definitely be considered Saban's best. The sixth ranger was also the most badass guy ever. BTW, his name was Eric. (Yeah, I know, right?!) Anyhoo, he was real snobby to the guys at first and worked under Wes' father's Silver Guardians, a team of... let's say the peace corps?
TO BE CONTINUED... in the next post, aside from three more explanations on the following seasons, I will also be explaining how Disney (yes, Disney) acquired the rights to Power Rangers.
